Energy Performance Certificate
The Government have recently announced that energy conservation is a major policy issue. Indeed, all residential properties are now required to have an energy perfomance certificate (EPC) whenever they are put up for sale.
Home Inspectors are qualified to produce EPCs - independently, or as part of a Home Condition Report (HCR). Domestic Energy Assessors focus specifically on EPCs only.
The Certificate. Tells you how energy efficient the home is on a scale of A-G. The most efficient homes (with the lowest running costs) are in Band A.
It also tells you about the impact the home has on the environment. Better rated homes should have less impact through Carbon Dioxide emissions.
Recommendations are included on the certificate about ways to improve the home's energy efficiency to save you money and help the environment.
